The Softer Side

"Only Me"

I fear that tone

of voice.

It reminds me that

I have no choice.

I once promised to play

by your rules.

I didn't realize it

would lead to duels.

I find it certain, I'll never

your heart's secrets know.

For once I can't express

the regrets

as they grow.

That I am not

The things

you wished me to be!

Alas, my friend

I'm only me!

"Divided Soul

Comes a time

in one's life.

The soul divides

because of strife.

When lost passions embers

are re-ignited.

Admidst childish glee

we are excited.

We forget all things

In that dance with joy.

And all our troubles

passions flare makes sing.

When denied a home

it rips and shreds.

And sends us cowering

to our beds.

In all our lives

within our heart,

we found but two

to share this part.

That tiny secret place

we hide with care.

Because when opened up

Our's souls laid bare.

And in this stolen

passions light,

We found it burning

twice as bright.

"Reality"

Dreams are still forming

lost somewhere in my mind.

I wonder daily whenever

life's highway will be kind.

To love and be loved

the world's greatest pleasure.

Not seeking but finding

someone I could treasure.

Dreams that are half formed

must now lie in wait.

We know in our minds eye

reality is the cruelest bait.

The haunting sounds

of loving laughter.

Of arms still awaiting

the precious gift of together.

Thoughts of passion's kindled

with no lover's touch involved.

A dream that's never dwindled

leaves our problem less than solved!

"But Not Always"

Poetry is like the trees.

It sways and caresses our

minds with ease.

But not always!

It can recall laughter or pain,

or just a dreamers thoughts in vain!

But not always....

"Spirals"

Lofty spirals round the moon.

Delicate the hum

of love's sweet tune!

Made discordant by

It's nature.

Was it just a little grey lie?

Or self-preservation the

motivation of your nature?

What lies ahead?

I'll not hazard

a guess!

I must sit and wait,

while you follow your quest!

Where will it lead?

You've been there before!

How many will you find?

Your images to adore!

My love will await,

Much as before.

For the sound of the phone,

or the knock at the door!
